What is hypnosis?

There are many different answers to this question and all of them are correct. Essentially hypnosis is a state of deep concentration coupled with a comfortable feeling of physical relaxation. This sense of “altered consciousness” allows us to explore our own potentials as well as have easier access to memories of the past. Everyone is able to be hypnotized, we all go through hypnosis each night when we fall asleep and each morning when we wake up. As we work together you will find that you go to the level of relaxation that works for you. As a hypnotherapist I know that it is your motivation for change that is most important!

Often our conscious mind wants to make a change but our subconscious self is stuck in a behavioral pattern and works against letting that change happen. During hypnosis the conversation between our conscious mind and our subconscious mind is active and lively, and they figure out together how to transform into your ideal Self. Sometimes this is done with Parts Therapy where each part of the Self has its own separate voice, or regression where we visit memories from within your life.

Hypnosis can also be used to communicate with your superconscious self such as during a Past Life Regression or Life Between Lives session. Your superconscious is the wisest most compassionate part of yourself which is connected with all other beings.

There are many techniques and avenues for transformation within the hypnotic state. This is why hypnosis is a useful tool for solving many different types of problems as well as discovering new ways to work with our own potential.

What does hypnosis feel like?

The first time you enter into hypnosis you may find that it is a familiar state which you visit often. For instance, close your eyes and take a moment to remember how you feel when you are just about to fall asleep...... it's that easy! Essentially hypnosis is a state of physical relaxation during which your mind becomes imaginative and open. It is both enjoyable and completely effortless. For some it takes a little practice to do it together with another person, but that practice has wonderful effects in daily life!

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is the practice of using hypnosis as a tool for achieving specified goals. Like a dream you can imagine a new future or delve into memories of the past. When you are in hypnosis suggestions feel like wonderful ideas which give you inspiration for new ways to accomplish whatever it is you want to change. Alternatively, if you are exploring your past through regression you will be able to look at your memories through the lens of your older and wiser self. The goals you decide to achieve through hypnotherapy are thoroughly discussed and understood before our session to help you attain exactly the results you are looking for.
