Dreamwork is a special process developed by one of my teachers, Randall Churchill. It is a technique of using significant dreams brought to the session by the client. We do not do any type of interpretation of the dream as this is overly intellectual and misleading. Instead we find resolutions by using hypnosis mixed with Gestalt Therapy to come to a new understanding of the dream. The main idea behind dreamwork is that each part of a dream reflects a different part of the person having the dream, therefore conflict within a dream relates to a conflict within the person. Within hypnosis we use Gestalt dialogue as a means of integration. Gestalt dialogue is a process whereby all different parts of a dream (including characters, objects and even emotions) can talk to each other until they reach a mutual understanding.
